Hey chicks! I suppose I need to wish you all a Happy New Year, since I've been MIA so far in 2013. Is it just me or did 2012 fly by? I swear, the calendar went from January to February to December. And let me just be frank--I'm kinda glad the holidays are over. I haven't known what day of the week it is since sometime in early December, so needless to say, I'm craving some serious normalcy in my life.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and NOT do a "highlights" of 2012 post. WHAT!? I know you're all just cringing that I'm skipping over the obligatory reflection post, and honestly, 2012 was a good year, but I'm ready for what 2013 has to bring. I'm ready for a fresh start, a clean slate. And even more honest? I think 2013 is going to be MY year.
My one resolution (other than lose this lingering 20 lbs that's been hanging onto my body lately...) is to find contentment. I think I said the same thing this time last year, but this year is going to be different. I've been working on my heart and praying for this year to be a year of peace, in all aspects of my life. From work, to friends, to family, to my relationship with Andrew, to my relationship with the Lord...I just want to be content and satisfied with where The Lord has me. I know more than anything, He has it under control and this His will and plan for me is far greater than I could plan for my own 2013. 2012 was a year of ups and downs, lots of loss for dear friends and family, and some changes in my life--in 2013, I'm just leaning on Him and believing that this year is gonna be a good one. Actually, I think it's going to be a fantastic one!
How about I stop blabbering and post some New Years Eve pics?!
I had to work NYE, so I scrambled home real quick after shift change and slapped on some makeup before dinner with Andrew, my sister, and her fiancé. We went to Boure and had a delicious dinner and then rang in the New Year at the Library, of course!
WOO! What a good time. The perfect start to what will be the best year yet!
I guess I lied--I have another resolution: to be more involved on my blog in 2013! I've let it get pushed to the side and I REALLY miss it, and y'all, of course! I've got some fun things coming up...gonna do a fantastic giveaway soon! Can't wait to fill y'all in on it.
Before I go, what do YOU want to see from {simple.little.joys} in 2013? Any suggestions on how to make this blog the best it can be? I think y'all are the bomb.com, so I trust what you have to say :)

I did a pseudo reflections post and felt a bit like a lemming doing so, so don't feel bad about not doing one. I agree: I think 2013 is going to be a particularly fantastic year. It just has a giddy, exciting feeling about it. Cheers to fresh starts!

My #1 new years goal is to find contenment as well. With all aspects in my life. It's hard to keep in mind that everything happens for a reason and God has us right where he wants us. I will try and remember this daily. Happy 2013 to you!! Cheers to finding contentment!
